4l60e install
Hello all, i just replaced my torque converter on my 4l60e, i put about 8 to 12 ounces of fluid in the converter. Still had about 2.5 quarts of fluid still in the trans pan after install i put about 5 quarts of fluid the car isnot moving until i raise the rpm to about 1800 rpm could this be from not enough fluid. i have read that the conveter holds 5 to 6 quarts of fluid and the pan holds 5 to 5.5 quarts so do i not have enough fluid in the trans for the car to move when the brake is released.

It shouldnt take long to fill the converter full with the engine running. I would let it idle and get warm while maintaining the level on the dipstick. Also, are you sure the converter is correct for the application?
