Default Th400. Long or short tail?

Going to look at a transmission a friend has in a few hours. Is it better to get the long/short tail to begin with when coming from a factory auto car? He has a few th350 and one 400 and he will take the same price for any of them. Obviously the 400 is better but if the tail is wrong would it be better to just get a 350? Either Trans will immediately be going to be built. Going behind a 650rwhp turbo f body.

Is it still a torque arm mounted to the trans? If so and you dont plan on changing the tq arm to a crossmember mounted setup, then you have to use a long tailshaft. If not, use the short.

It's still the stock setup. This 60 has been built 3x and the last was from a major shop. Still blowing through it when boost get over 13lb. I'll probably buy the BMR crossmember to use.

Most Long Tail TH400's are BOP's, And most/all Long Tail Chevy applications are technically TH375's (27 Spline Output/Fewer Frictions)

You can buy Output Shafts & Tail Housings cheap....PM me if you can't find them.
