Silveradoss.com moves pretty slow so I figured I'd ask here. Just bought a 2004 Silverado SS with a bad transfer case. A buddy of mine has a case from a 2002 Escalade sitting around. The SS has a NP (or NV or NVG) 149, and the tag on escalade case says 149 as well. Any difference between a 2002 and 2004 case or good to go?

No thats not true. As long as their function is the same you're good. If it was a truck that had hi/low ranges it won't work in a truck that had no selector. The problem is it changed over the years based on make/model. Lots of escalades and denalis got the non selectable awd system, and this is different then 4wd.
