Default threadlock

Threadlock on torque converter bolts. Bolts holding tc to flywheel. If yes is red ok.

Blue is generally suggested, but I and many other use Red. With Red, you may need an impact tool to loosen them; my battery impact wrench with a swivel socket fits in just fine.

If your working on a daily driver/fun car then I wouldn't use any thread locker. If your working on a "diesel" then yes it is needed.

I have installed a lot of transmissions and engines over the years and have never used any type of thread locking compound on the torque converter bolts. To this day I do not know of any of these bolts backing out.

Wouldn't use red on any bolt on a car unless I wasn't ever going to take it out again. I have used it on my SFC's but that's it.
