Advice on m6-a4 swap
Hey everyone, I'm in the process of swapping from an t56 to a 4l60e and I was looking for advice on some things.
#1 Gear ratio
I currently have 4:10 in the car but I also saved my old 3:42s or if 3:73 is the way to go I can do that.
#2 Stall
Everyone seems to be saying 3500 or so.
#3 Tune
Going to get a mail order tune for the swap, what exactly should I be asking for so that it works right and who do you trust to do it. (currently have a frost tune)
Car right now is a 98 z28 with full exhaust 4:10s and frost tune
A few months after the swap is complete and working flawlessly I will install my heads/cam/intake that ive been sitting on and dyno tune the car.
Thank you

The biggest step is installing the trans harness and pinning it into the PCM connector.
Frost may have one to sell you, else Speartech definitely does.
There is no problem with the 4.10 rear as the A6 has a reasonable overdrive.
With a 4.10 rear, a 3600 or even 4000 is a good choice.
I like to keep the rear-ratio times 1000 divided by stall-speed at or slightly above 1.0.
Yes, there are members here with a 2.73 rear and 4000 stall (.68 ratio) but I would not enjoy the looseness on the street.
