Are there any differences between a 98 auto trans out of a trans am and a 01 SS camaro? The reason I ask is my buddy had his trans go out in his 01 SS camaro and he found a 98 out of a trans am.

When I looked it up at autozone(where I work) we could order the 98-99 trans but not the 00 and up. He found a good deal on the trans but really needs to know if there are any differences in the two.

Off the top of my head, they should be the same. Both use 300mm converters and are from the same platform.
