Default Will a 4l60e bracket fit the 4l80e?

Hello, I have installed a 4l80e, and I purchased a camaro shifter for it. I also went to the junkyard and grabbed a camaro "shift bracket" (with the big 10mm ball on the end) so it will snap onto the camaro shifter.

Thinking all was well, I went to install my new shifter and found the aftermarket bracket (That holds the cable) was positioning the shift cable approx 1.5" too far away from the shift "ball". The cable will not reach. I tried adjusting it of course.

So now, My thought is, I will go the junkyard again and grab a Camaro 4l60e cable bracket. I hope somebody can tell me if this will work or not? Or if I will need a 4l80e cable bracket, or, change something else?

edit: got a camaro bracket today. will try it tomorrow and report back

Solved.

I used a Camaro shifter, with the camaro shifter linkage (10mm ball), and the camaro 4l60e cable bracket (all camaro parts... sigh, go figure). I had to slot the bolt holes for the camaro cable bracket to fit the 4l80e.

Everything is now bolted up very nice, I am very happy with the result.

Pretty amazing so far how easy I fit this 5.3/4l80e. should be driving it in a week or two! yikes
thing is going to be crazy. I'll probably run the OEM wheels at first, drive it like a plain old work truck for a while.
