I already hijacked this thread at post #167 because I didn't think the OP would mind:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...rebuild-9.html

Its a 1986 BMW 535i which has been a Lemons racer for 4+ years. In Colorado we were team Orgasmatron.

Threadjack all you want. I posted a "solution" link in the first post so that no one will have to dig through all of this just to get to the crux of the biscuit. I also have a clean version on my site that the Google crawlers can find.

I've done this exact same thing my first time with a couple "helpers" that "knew what they were doing". I wasn't even under the car when they pulled the trans up to the block via tightening the bolts.

If the trans surface doesn't easily go on the dowels and perfectly mate to the block BY HAND, the converter isn't seated all the way. Then when you do get it on, make sure the converter is free from the flexplate and spins by hand. Measure, measure, measure.

odd_boy: As you may have figured out now, a non-informational post on an old thread is not appreciated because it causes everyone who originally posted on the thread to be notified of a new post.

Yes, these old threads have great value and are often found through Google searches. Just don't add to them.

Therefore, I am closing this thread. If you have more to add, start a new thread and perhaps include a link to this thread.
