Hello, I have been looking on rockauto for a automatic transmission replacement filter for a 2001 A4 Trans Am and I am getting multiple part numbers. I want to get an AC Delco product and there are two or three of them there. Which one is the right filter number? Thanks!

 

Your local auto parts store will have one. Get the wix deep pan

Your auto store will carry deep and shallow.

If the bottom of your pan is flat it is a shallow. If it has a step it is a deep. Sorry about the confusion

 

Ok no problem. It's the shallow type then.

 

This is the shallow filter type in Camaros & Firebirds. Make sure the filter has the words on it (Sealed Power ID marks) SPX, filtran, or microfelt. This is the best filter to use here. The second best is the Allomatic. It will have a big A (it looks somewhat like an A) in the middle on the top of the filter. If it has none of these markings, don't use it.
