4l60e 4th gen TA cooler- air conditioning?
Hi guys, I'm looking for temp results of dope style and conventional cooler mounting.
I'm looking to do a bypass of the stock cooler along with a bypass of the stock p/s cooler to lower my temps overall.
My guess is 170+ temps coming off a cooler mounted in front of my AC condenser will affect my AC when I need it most. I don't want that. I want AC when it's over 90 and humid.
The dope style 24k B&M cooler mounted below the horns seems like it wouldn't get enough air flow to be effective.
My question is has anyone seen their air conditioning drop off with conventional cooler mounting and do the dope styles cool efficiently without direct airflow? Thanks!

Your car shouldn't run that hot a 60mph even in 110 degree ambient!!
My 2001 Camaro 6.2L L92 with a stock LS3 water pump/Thermostat, Stock AC-Delco replacement radiator, Trans with a 3200 stall with the cooler routed through the radiator then to a "dope style" B&M cooler......Never runs over 205 degree ECT even with the A/C on in stop & go traffic.
The radiator hose mounted PS cooler is most likely NOT adding that much heat at 60mph!
Is the factory air dam & shrouds in place?
Thermostat in place & functioning?
When I built my car I had to pressure wash the A/C condenser for an hour to get all the dirt & grass out of it.
My Low Speed Fans come on at 180 degrees, High Speed on at 205 degrees/ 245psi A/C head pressure. Fans off at 62mph.
My Trans (4L65E) never got above 180 degrees no matter how hard/often I pushed it.
I have the feeling your fighting a cooling stack airflow issue or a half clogged radiator??

It's an '01 TA original car down to the thermostat and the maintenance was questionable. The coolant and inside by the radiator cap looks clean, but who knows?? I tried blowing out the fins of the condenser and radiator with an air hose without removing them from the car and some stuff came out but hard to tell if it's still clogged.
Ok PS cooler now bypassed and a remote cooler installed not in the path of the radiator. 180 thermostat installed and fans reprogrammed to work with the stat.
Now car runs 180-205 most of the time. Eventually I will bypass the stock transmission cooler.
