4l60e reverse problem

4l60e reverse problem 2000 Escalade when i shift into reverse,i feel it softly engage. i try to back up and it barely moves, rev the rpms and it will jerk into reverse and start backing up normally, let off the gas and it goes back to being like it was when i first shifted into reverse. Does this sound like a boost valve problem or a sun shell? I figure with my luck it will be both. All fwd gears are working fine.
