In traffic the converter won't be locked.
Driving around town I see around 120 degrees in the fall with the converter unlocked, 4000 stall and after market cooler bypassing the stock cooler.

If it is 80 degrees Fahrenheit outside those are not bad temps for stop and go traffic.
If you are that warm around 45 degrees Fahrenheit I would change your cooler setup.
But 185 degree Fahrenheit in general is not harmful to your transmission. Danger zone is around 230-240 degrees Fahrenheit where I would start to think of pulling over to let it cool down but with a proper setup you should never come close to even 220 degrees Fahrenheit

My 80E with a 4500+ converter will be in the mid 140's to 150's on a mid 70's day mixed driving and have seen 174 once following a school bus but temps go back down when I start moving again.
This is with a tru cool H7B cooler that's 1/2 blocked by my bumper.
Probably going to step up to the 40k one just to be safe.
