Scored TQ Rear Hub
Any ideas what would cause the scored marks on TQ hub?
1998 Z28 ProCharged D1 SC, heads, cam, longtubes, etc. Stock short block.
Transmission and TQ was installed by a reputable shop known for the world class torque converters here in Kansas. Both were new at the time.
Less than 6 k on both. Never drag raced or street raced. Only hard stress would have been three dyno sessions while tuning on a Mustang dyno.
Been awhile since it was installed - 2007 - but car has been parked in my garage trying to find a solution for overheating with the AC on here in Kansas when temps over 100 degree. You can search my posts on this forum going all the way back to 2007 after the D1 install trying to figure out overheating and some fixes. So I have averaged about 500 miles a year on the car - driving in Wichita only trying to fix the overheating.
Finally solved the overheating this spring by moving the ac condenser off of the radiator and into the bumper cover. Overheating was solved completely.
So decided to install a blower cam along with a trunion kit and alkycontrol kit that has been in the box since 07.
Few weeks ago put it on the dyno and it blew out oil from the bellhousing - only 455 rwhp. Was tuning for installation of a blower cam and AlkyControl methanol injection. It made 563 rwhp on dyno previous to this session in 2009 with a different cam and no methanol.
Was way off on rwhp and we discovered about a qt tranny oil on undercarriage. So put it back on the trailer and towed it home.
Removed TQ and transmission and this is what I found.

From what I can see on the hub my personal opinion is I would replace it.
