Default Ls1 to th400 converter problem

So I installed my th400 in my 02 trans am.i used a JW ultranell fir ls1, I used a ptc converter. No extended snout. I used a bowed flywheel and the Hughes crank snout adapter. Everything bolted up fine but the converter likes a little over an 1/8 of an inch touching the mounting pads on the flywheel. The snout on he converter is bottoming out inside the adapter. My question is can I just shim the converter? My buddy had the same problem, but he just tighten it up and drew the flywheel against the converter and it vibrated real bad and he had to take it back apart. I would rather just shim the converter if possible

If you push the converter all the way into the trans, how much space is there in between the pads and flex plate? The converter needs to come out of the trans an 1/8in and you don't want more than 3/16 between the converter and flexplate. If your in those tolerances with shims than your good to go. Call ptc to make sure
