Default Removing washers from flexplate

Ok we all know my issues at idle in gear/rev.
I've read that "it's possible" that the converter "could" be into far in the pump causing my issue partially blocking something.
I only have 1 washer and it looks to be .050" thick.
I can't remember what the distance was...so if I unbolt it and slide it back and it's less then .187" I can slide her forward and bolt it up and try it?
I know it's got too be worth a try right?
Thoughts?

I doubt that's your problem, But.....The converter needs space.

there is nothing that can be blocked in the pump by the converter neck. The converter needs space to move in/out with the flex plate. Is this a stock converter or aftermarket?

Aftermarket. I took the washers out and messed with it going in and out of gear with it plugged in and when warm I can idle in gear at 800 rpm.
Still feels like the converters tight tho.
In that hr idling it never went above 137*
IF it was dragging, I would, assume that the temp would be much higher.
