Which torque converter for 5.3 mild cam?

Works great except when braking I am fighting the rpms. It tries to lurch forward. I am getting in the habit of shifting to neutral when stopping. Not right.
I know I need a new TC but what size and stall speed? This is my daily driver. 3.73's on 32's. I hear the trailblazer 4.2 TC is a good choice at 2600-2800 vs my stock one of 1400-1600

I had that in my TA, it worked pretty well. I would, and this is just me, put a trans cooler on to help with heat. I would find a newer one if possible. Rock Autp has a AC Delso one.

Your cam is a very mild one. Just lower the idle speed. If it idles too rough then, you might need some tuning. That cam with the LSA you have should idle smoothly.

That should not "need" a converter, it should not push through the brakes. That being said it can dang sure benefit from one. I run this one in my yukon and a stock cam and love it.
