So I have read numerous threads about swapping on the GTO. The thing that is confusing is that the 04 is different from 05/06. Some say it's works fine with a segment swap from 04 express van. This was my understanding when I started getting things together for the swap. I have already wired in the extra speed sensor and swapped the pin s with u. Some people say u have to have a harness, one a control box. Anyone know for sure what is needed? Thank you.

 

I can't comment on what is needed for the swap, but I can tell you the 04 is the same as the 05-06 as far as connectors, external parts, the size of the trans, etc.

 

Thanks, Im trying to find a solid answer as to the controlling of the trans. I have read of people having speedometer and fuel gauge problems but this is a 240 sx without a bcm, so I don't anticipate having any of those problems.

 

2004 GTO's have a P59 Engine/Trans controller, Worst case scenario is you may have to swap PCM's. Do you know the OS?

2005 & 2006 GTO's use a E40 ECM & T42 TCM.

 

12587604/ I found a tune someone had segment swapped last night and i was able to use it to segment swap mine. I still have to get the motor and trans back in the car to see if it works.
