Default Need some 4L60E help with my swap

Hey guys. This forum thing is new to me so any help is appreciated. I've got a 1977 Chevy K20 that I'm attempting to do an LS swap in. I just sourced a lower mileage '07 L33 which is drive by wire. I want to try to keep the drive by wire setup so I can take advantage of the torque management system and the other goodies that it's capable of so my original plan of running a 700R4 isn't going to work (nowhere to run the TV cable). This isn't going to be a high horsepower or heavily worked truck, just a nice daily driver. Probably 350 hp tops. Now my question. I found a 4L60E with the transfer case I want (241C) but I don't know if it will work behind the L33 electronically or physically. Are there certain years that won't work? Any help would be great. I can't find anyone around me that knows. Thanks in advance.

Nice truck and I'm looking forward to seeing pictures. I'm no expert but it should be possible to make it work with some fabrication, brackets, etc. You will probably need to change the drive shaft lengths and maybe the yokes and u-joints. After that, you should be able to find a tune for your Powertrain Control Module that should work for you but unless you know what you are doing here, I'd let somebody else do the program swapping inside your PCM.

Thanks. I'm very familiar with these old trucks and I've had a couple of LS's in newer trucks I've had but, this is the first time for me trying to put an LS in an old one. Your right about the PCM. No way I'd attempt that, but I've been told that there's a guy who tunes them halfway close to me. I will have to have new shafts made and fab a new trans mount. That stuff I can handle. I'm just a little lost on which 4L60 I need that will be compatible with my engine electronically, or if it even needs to be. I've found a couple new performance ones that will work, but they're almost 3 grand and a little out of the budget. If I went that route I've still got to buy a torque converter and t-case also.
