2004 wedge or o'ring seal

2004 wedge or o'ring seal Hey guys, I have a question regarding the 4l60E Pump to case seal. Was 2004 the year they changed to all wedge style seals or was that still a mixed badge of O'ring style mixed with wedge style. I'm asking because I'm trying to buy a replacement pump for a 2004 4l60E but the guy is telling me 2004 was a mixed badge. I'm sure it's a 300mm shaft but not sure if its a wedge style without taking it apart.
You can see the wedge style seal around the perimeter of the pump body. If it's an o-ring you won't be able to see anything between the pump and the case. I can't find a picture right now but you can definitely tell the difference, of course you'll need to have the trans out of the vehicle and the converter removed. HTH

It seems that many changes/improvements start with performance models and then filter to other models by the next year. I also think 2004 was a transition year for pump seals, so you really need to check what you have.
