Default A4 Transmission questions

Im new to the ls world i just bought a 98 T/A with a4 trans im ordering a new a4 trans and one of the questions be for i order the tranny is. is there a switch with two plugs on the side of the tranny? The car sets to low for my floor jack to get under it

drive your car up onto a 2"X4" piece of wood then slide your jack in and take a look.

No there is not. That is a neutral safety switch, used on trucks, trailblazers, etc.

The F body trans uses a switch up on the column. The f body also has a shorter shift linkage shaft.

No, the f body cars have the switch on the shifter.

it's in the center console on the shifter. Regardless, it doesn't really matter...the point is, its not down on the side of the trans. That should be enough info for the op to order what he needs
