Untested 4l80, what to do next?
Untested 4l80, what to do next? I’ll be picking up a 4l80 from a tow yard, it’s in unknown condition. What would you do while it’s out? Besides checking the fluid how else can you verify the condition. Thanks.
Just some thoughts, are you OK pulling it back out if its no good. If you buy a new
converter and the trans is no good, it should be flushed, same with cooler, lines.
They are not bad to rebuild, ID'ing if a part is bad or not is sometimes tricky.
As said, bushing drivers, etc, plus the 4th clutch is tricky w/o the right tool.
