Default Issues with my first 4l60e rebuild.

Don’t mock me too bad as I am a first timer...

Looking for some guidance on my first ever attempt at a 4l60e rebuild.

Rebuilt trans with mid range rebuild kit. Also installed new accumulator pistons, reverse input drum, upgraded sun shell and shift improvement kit. Put in truck with new torque converter and drove it around a bit. Watched the shifts on the scanner and it felt like I had all 4 gears and lockup. About 50 miles later after driving around on a 90 degree day, I gave it some heavy throttle and it didn’t seem to want to go from 2-3 unless I let off the throttle a bit. It didn’t seem to be slipping. Fluid level looks good and is still light red/pinkish.

After letting it it cool down for about 3 hours I drove it around the block and it felt like it was shifting correctly. It’s always felt a bit soft going from 2-3 and 3-4.

Hope someone one can offer an idea on how to fix.

Default Update

Not sure if it matters but I did discover a pinhole leak in my cooler line. Looks like it’s spraying right on the cat but it must be a small one as there is not much dripping on the ground.

What's the line pressure under idle, etc?

Is line pressure something I can see in the scan tool?

No

Put a pressure gauge on it. Test port is on the driver side of the case. Do a quick google and you'll find a pic

You can get a 0-300 psi gauge on amazon for cheap

Yeah, like $30 including the connector.

Out of curiosity, what's your clearance for the 3-4 clutch pack?
