It'll never happen.
One reason is that the 3-4 clutch can be made durable enough to expose the next weakness in this transmission.
By the time all the weak areas are upgraded you end up with a transmission that costs about as much as something like a 4L80E that's hardly upgraded yet just as durable.

Also if you extend the input drum you would change the position of the reverse input drum which would not work with the current band anchor location which means you would have to cut the case perfectly in half, figure out the case side of the valve body and also do the same extending of the valve body which is just not a option.
