TH400 Stuck 1-2 Shift Valve! Help

TH400 Stuck 1-2 Shift Valve! Help Hey I have a th400 I was helping a buddy do a homemade shift kit. We removed the 1-2 shift valve and ground 2 flats on the end. Now it seems to be sticking in the bore. This was a used trans we purchased for a budget swap. Not sure if it was sticking before we tweaked it.
The largest valve is sticking when u move it back and forth, catches on the last bore opening toward the inside of valve body . Ive tried everything to get it to work, sand paper, etc. without luck!
Anyone had any issues like this before? Maybe have a th400 valve body laying around? thanks.
