Been offered a 4L60E for cheap, its from an 01 Pontiac GTO with 135k on the clock, I was told that is was holding 2nd longer than it should and then shifting hard into 3rd and 4th. How big a problem could i be looking at, is it a valve body/solenoid problem or looking at something deeper. ( I have a spare 4l60e with burnt 3-4 clutch pack if need VB parts)
Sorry dont really know much more about trans than that and its already out of the car.

It probably wasn't holding second long, it was probably sliding into 3rd because the 3-4 clutch is going out. PCM trans slip code probably maxed out line pressure which is the only reason it even moved.
A good deal on a non working 2001 4L60E out of who knows what is $50. I can get cores of all years for $40.
Why not build the one you already have?
