Default LY6 and Powerglide with mid plate???

I'm looking for some advice on what will be required to make the above work. I've searched and read a lot about spacers, bolt on and the collar type, new and old flex plates... But I've got a 3/8" thick mid plate between the engine and transmission. Will that not affect it too?

Yes that will obviously affect it. Pick your converter manufacturer of choice...call them...describe what you have and they will build a converter with the proper dimensions to match. FWIW if you add the crank spacer (as shown in the sticky at the top of this forum section) you have the same spacing as the old SBC.

Ok right on, thanks. I ordered a new non dished SFI rated flex plate and a collar style bushing/crank spacer. Will consult the converter guy when time comes.
