Hi guys,

I have the 1993 4l60e transmission I want to change the the TCC Valve, BUT heard i have to bore it before i replace the valve. I was wondering if there's a way not to bore it out and just replace the spring on this valve? i'm hoping that once i replace the spring it will stop slipping. Or just replace the whole valve body, but i'm on a budget.

 

You didn't state what year transmission you are working on or what your actual problem. But this is a TCC valve that solves most TCC problems that are valve body related. P1870 CODE FIX for GM 4L60E (1996-05) part number SKU# A74741QA from Fitzall. Does not require the valve body to be reamed.

 

I stated on the post that i have a "1993 4l60 transmission" your fix is for 95 and later what i have is the earlier transmission i just can't add the tcc valve it's a total different approach. Thanks for the help tho.

 

You can remove the valve body and any local transmission shop will be able to ream it for a few bucks

 

that's my biggest fear. lol :/ i almost want to replace the whole valve body, BUT that wouldn't be a bad idea have the shop ream it and i'll just install the tcc valve.

 

Chances are the valve body is fine. This valve is not active as in the later 1995 & up pwm setups. The clutch has gone away in the torque converter. Replace the torque converter with the later carbon type clutch and replace the input shaft capsule with the 1995 and later "dual feed" capsule. Yours is a "single feed" capsule. This will double the oil going to the converter clutch. GM part number 8685839. Make sure you install a new O-ring on the input shaft.
