Default Looking to adapt 1997 4L60E trans to 2003 5.3

Hey guys I've been searching to find an answer here but seems a different answer from most people. I have a 1997 4L60E from a v8 and I'm wanting to put it behind a 2003 5.3 LS . What do I have to do to achieve this properly? I hear I need an adapter to space the torque converter to the flywheel, and I may have to elongate the bolt holes on the flywheel. Is this all that needs to be done? Any and all feedback appreciated guys. I'm a new member here and am doing an S10 build. Thanks in advance guys. Best site I've seen for information on this type of swap. Also, I want to upgrade the torque converter with about a 2500 stall. Any suggestions?

Add crank spacer and elongate flexplate bolt holes. Stock starter will work.

I always measure converter to hub to trans bell housing mounting pad. Thin measure rear of engine etc. This will make certain if u need a spacer or not.

ok yes I did find the adaptor for the flexplate and I have the dished flexplate on mine. So from what I understand I do need the spacer. I have the old flexplate as well from the 97 set up so I will e able to trace to elongate the holes.

Treat it as if you're dealing with a th400 swap or similar. You need to use the correct year converter to match the trans...then get a crank spacer and flat flexplate with the correct bolt pattern. Very simple.

I hate elongating the flexplate holes...but I know people do it.
Make sure to doubecheck converter clearance and pilot hub engagement.
