Rebuilding 4l80e
Its there a kit I can purchase that will include everything I need and not buy twice. This will being going in a 68 camaro turbo 4.8 LS motor street car build to give you an idea of the power 800-1000hp. I’m not trying to drag race the car at all.
Thanks
Jakes performance rebuild kit will come with everything you need, good instructions, and good customer service. If you want everything wrapped up in one place...that's the place to go.
The stage 3 kit includes a billet input shaft and forward hub...both will be needed over 750 hp
You won't find a more complete and thorough kit out there. And the price is incredibly reasonable in my opinion for all the stuff you get...especially considering that you don't have to do any of the work to make sure you get the right combo of parts. You just swipe the credit card one time and get a whole box full of stuff proven to work well together and hold the power you want it to.

Is this something a detail oriented mechanic can accomplish or are there substantial specialty tools and inherent knowledge required?
I built my 66 nova from ground up myself sans the dyno tuning. This includes new electrical wiring throughout, methanol injection, Sbe 6.0 with custom hot & cold side, s475, a2a intercooler, fuel system front to back, etc. I did all welding and wrenching myself. The car dynoed 725whp on 15lbs of boost. Does a 4l80e rebuild sound feasible for someone with my level experience?
liquidmx, IMO, as long as your very detail oriented, not in a rush, and have some tools like a dial indicator, you should be fine. There are some great video on youtube that you can follow, and the atra book is almost idiot proof. From what I see, these 80es are not as complicated as a 4l60e. Just do your own research, watch a video on youtube, and you should know if you comfortable with taking one apart yourself at that point. The way I look at it, you didn't know how to rebuild a motor, until you did.
