Default 4l60e to a 4l80

I have a turbo 6.0 w/a 0411 ecm and i am looking to build a 4l80e to replace my 60, are there any 4l80e years that I should look for? what are there differences in the years?

Have you used the search function?
Try that.

But since I don't like being "that guy" here's some basics

-Harness type changed in 93 to a better updated harness. Leaks were fixed. Can be updated in any early unit.
-Changed from front lube to center lube in 97
-Minor differences in the overdrive roller clutch (pre 2001 is better and stronger)
-Larger pinions in late model units (the early pinions will take 2000+ horsepower...so don't think that this is a selling point)
-Intermediate sprag on 89-96 units is 16 element not 34. The 34 is a direct swap and the drum is exactly the same.

That's prettymuch it.

if you have your choice...get a front lube unit from 96 and earlier and make sure you do the right mods when rebuilding. Get a 34 element sprag. Get a new harness and solenoids.
