TH400 tailshaft seal local availability?
I have an issue with my TH400.
Fresh trans. I go to slide my driveshaft in and it won't fit into the tailshaft housing, the seal has too small of an inner diameter and the yoke just butts up against it.
The place that did the trans gave me a part number, I picked it up locally and went to slide it over the driveshaft to check. Same problem.
Turns out its for a torqueflite. They claim the seal in the trans came from the TH400 rebuild kit used on the transmission and not the torqueflite one.
Now I need a seal ASAP. I can always order one online and get it in a few days, but I need the car driving by Saturday morning.
Select parts stores in the area seem to keep this type of thing in stock, but I need a part number or even a link for whatever brand those stores might carry.
Can anyone help?

Didn't help. I bought 2 other part numbers and while they fit the yoke, they didn't fit the trans.
Turns out I have a rare 65-67 tailshaft housing that uses a small bore gasket and bushing and a very thin yoke.
It also has an oiling hole in the housing that fills the rear with fluid right behind the seal.
Swapped out housings. No more chasing my tail. Problem solved.
