Hey all,
I have an old JW competition 350 that was built way back in 2003 ( JW man rev vb/ brake) with only 100 miles on it- sat many years then thrown behind 383 in a Vega last year in which it stripped out the input drum after 50 miles or so ( part throttle 1 - 2 shift).
Anyways long story short - reassembled with a Coan shaft/drum ( steel) CK diode and low roller and noticed they blocked the 1- 2 accumulator with a 1/8 plug and the separator plate without a port. Piston and spring were assembled normally BTW.
I would like to get the accumulator back in play to soften things up a little as it mostly a light use street car for now and probably the cause of the drum stripping.
Do I leave the pipe plug out and make a port on the separator plate where the red notch is ( I have an old B&M plate to use as template) ?
Also the intermediate accumulator bore is blocked with a 2 1/4 freeze plug - not sure if the circuit flows thru that bore to the 1 2 accumulator requiring the freeze plug removed and pipe plug the center bore??
