Default Quick 4l80e question

Hello I have 4l80e, been fine for 3 years 20k miles now behind 5.3L

I recently did a cam swap so now the idle is a bit higher, 670~ instead of the usual 550rpm, not sure if this is contributing to the "new" issue,

When I snap from neutral to drive, the response is instant.

but when I snap from drive back to neutral, it seems to take a second to get back into neutral. Almost like fluid isn't draining out of somewhere fast enough.

I wonder if it's the new higher idle RPM because I don't recall it doing this before the cam swap.

Otherwise, should I even worry? It seems to do it a bit more when hot but it could be my imagination.

sup man, yeah why do we do any of this, the bloody cuts and burnt bruised fingers, everytime I start the car I remember

its my first 4l80e so I don't know if what I'm experiencing is normal

Also first "ls" engine so there are strange noises that freak me out. For example I forgot to put the ground cable back on after the cam swap and it stranded me at the first gas station for a couple hours thinking there was a starter problem.

During that time, the motor would crank but only a little bit at a time. Like 1 cylinder at a time for 20 separate tries. So I guess the engine had a chance to compress some springs, bleed those lifters down, then compress some new ones, bleed those lifters down, etc... all the way around.

When I finally got it started I thought the engine was blown. It has a distinct misfire, shake, and sounded like a mechanical problem in the head. Since I had just done the cam swap I thought something had come loose.

But it quieted down after 30 seconds and smoothed out. I guess the lifters really clatter like crazy when they bleed down fully, so I suppose what sort of noise it will make if one ever collapses (sounds almost like a rod knock and a misfire)
