Default 99 trans am, need new converter in Canada.

So, just got the car a week ago. Has 2.73s and I'm gonna swap them out for some 3.73s. I figure while that's being done, may as well do a 3800 stall converter.
This isn't a race car, it will never see the track, it's my drive it around when it's nice out car.

Anyone know of a good place to get one in Canada? Or a reasonable priced one in the US? I'd really like to keep it under $700US and cheaper if possible (lots of mods to buy!)
I had a 87 GN a 9 years ago with a 3800 stall and it was great... Though I just sold a 750rwph GT500, so this thing feels like a lawn mower right now lol.

Any Canadian dealer/stores or good options would be appreciated. I've been out of the GM game for a while now lol.

For slightly over your $700 budget you could get into a nice 9.5" billet piece that will hold up to future mods and be an all around better product. IMO i would consider going that route but i'm more of a spend it up front and only do it once kinda guy

PS we ship to Canada

The Guys over at FTI are very active here and very supportive here. Call them up and give them a shot!
Many/ most of us here have had dealings with them and no negative feedback to give.

Also if you are not sure what you are looking for... There is a night and day difference in performance between something like a $250 B&M converter and what FTI offers around $700.
It is very very much worth the added expense... DO NOT cheap-out on a torque-converter.

Lastly, please allow the guys at FTI to spec-out a converter for you... Do not just order some 3,800 RPM brake-stall converter because some other guy on the internet has one too.

To be fair my "cheaper than $700" was more in the $600-650 range, not $250 lol
I wasn't planning on just buying anything, just hoping to find a Canadian place people buy from. 700$ is almost 1000$ CDN, add shipping and taxes and that's a 1400$ converter.... Double the $.. You can now see why I was asking lol.
I'm gonna give them a call and see what we can do.

I'd spend a little more money on a proven quality product than some cheap refurbished stock style converter. I'm from Canada too and just are the cost on an awesome circle d converter that was well worth the money

I'm in Canada too but close enough to the border that I can get items shipped to the us and then go pick them up myself and bring them across. Most times they don't make you pay the taxes at the border.
I bought a yank ss3600 from another member here and love it. There is currently a yank pas3800 listed for sale in the marketplace here. Might be worth checking out.

Ya, I sent him a message, thx! I'm usually not a used performance parts buyer, have had horrible experiences with crappy sellers in the past.
My brother in law goes to the boarder quite often, so he said I can just use his account and he would grab it for me.
Thx again, I never would have looked in the marketplace lol.

So I ended up getting a new 3600 stall from FTI, ordered this morning.
Shipping to me in Canada was surprisingly reasonable! No need to go to the boarder on this one.
