if a2006 w/iss,be replaced w/2008 iss, how do i tell if 2006 4l60e has iss thanks

pins on the connector on side of case.
ISS models have more wires than non ISS models

I want to use a 2006 4L60E in my 1999 Silverado. I noticed there are 3 extra pins in the ECU plug. Will my 13 pin plug on my 1999 work on the 15 pin 2006 transmission? Also what are the 2 extra pins working in the transmission? I have read other posts where someone used this later transmission in their older truck like mine and it seemed to shift fine. Anyone here done this before?

Did you read above? The two extra pins are for input speed sensor.
yes, the 99 will work if you put the 2006 trans in it.

If you try to go the other way and put a 99 trans in a 2006...you will have issues
