Yea, it's a stupid question, but theres that guy that will answer no to this. And that changes the original question dramatically.
More importantly is that a bracket is used to mount the cable/ adjuster assembly on/ or near the intake manifold.
Proper adjustment of the cable is of the MOST IMPORTANCE!
The trans will slip and burn-up from low line pressure otherwise.
The bracket in this photo is an example... not the carb linkage... the bracket.
The Idiot proof method that many builder use for "throttle cable" transmissions (IE: 700-R4 and 200-4R) is to modify the valve-body for fixed line pressure.
I very much am happy with the fixed line pressure in race units but not so much with the street driven units.
