Can 2008 4L60E be installed on 2012?
Can this be done by simply swapping internal wire harness? I noticed immediately the 2012 does not have an external Nuetral safety switch, and my 2008 does. I see that's a potential problem. Aside from that my bell housing bolts are the same and from what I understand I have a 300mm tc on both. So that's good. But my main question is, does the valve body need to be replaced? Is it just the wire harness that needs swapping? And what about the NSW?
The 2012 sump pump crapped out at 120k. And I have the 2008 on my work bench now.
Any help is appreciated.
There is significant differences electronically and electrically.
The 2012 model year transmission can be swapped in with a 2012 or newer ECM/ PCM along with the corresponding external and internal wiring.
Your best bet is to find another transmission or core.
The 4L60E is the most popular/ common automatic 4 speed transmission in the world... there are a lot of these transmissions around.
