LT1, 4l60e compatibility
Post this also in the LT1/LT4 section. You might get more responses.
So, swap that one solenoid, then follow any instructions/advice you get for swapping in a 97 engine/trans combo
There is ALOT of misinformation/wives tales around the 93/94----95---96/97 trannies and how they are all totally incompatible
93/94= PWM 3-2, no TCC Reg
95=PWM 3-2, PWM TCC Reg
96/97= On/Off 3-2, PWM TCC Reg
If you want to use the 96/97 trans into a 95 car/computer...change the on/off 3-2 for a pwm style
If you want to use the 95 trans into a 96/97 car/computer...change the pwm 3-2 to an on/off style
No matter which way you are switching, I would recommend blocking both 3-2 valves inboard. The 3-2 downshift valve and 3-2 control valve are just ways to control exhaust fluid with an orifice. Giving more of a "range" to the 3-2 downshift feel. You don't need them. They cause leaks, they cause headache.
If you use the wrong solenoid and the computer can "tell" via its resistance/current feedback loop then yes, it can send it into limp mode.
