Default LS1 to 4L60E

I have a 2002 LS1 out of a corvette that I'm trying to attach a 4L60E transmission out of a 2002 Yukon too but the flex plate does not match up with the mounting holes in the torque converter. Does anyone know what flex plate will bring these two together?

Wow. I saw the goofy newb post in the other thread, but no need to bash him in his own thread.

Not a big deal, some people are just that way. I agree it was kind of out there, we were just getting ready to mate the engine and transmission when we realized the flexplate wasn't a match for the torque converter so I jumped online hoping to find something and rushed thru it. If pecker head likes to jump on stuff like that then so be it. I've got more to worry about then some idiot that would rather bash then help. In the meantime I've got find a flex plate that's compatible with this transmission and engine. Anyone that has any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey guy...
You jumped onto a thread from 2007 about THM350/ THM400 transmissions and dropped your unclear question...

"The flex-plate is not matching up" ?????????????????????
Matching up to what???

To the crankshaft flange?
To the crank/ converter pilot hole?
To the torque converter pilot hole?
To the torque converter mounting pads?

And for all of those...

Are we talking radius of the location of a bolt hole?
Are we talking spacing away from the crank, or spacing away from the torque converter?

Yeah I know, I'm not that familiar with the site and I was rushed hoping to find something out so jumped on the first thread I saw dealing with automatic transmissions. Like I said, not a big deal. I went back and started a thread on it before you ever responded. Which by the way doesn't speak well for the way you respond to people that has made a mistake. A little more understanding and a little less bashing would go a long way. I'm sure there is a lot of people willing to share their knowledge and answer questions on this site and that's what makes it what it is.. As far as I'm concerned it was just another thing. I didn't give it a second thought. Everyone is different and everyone deals with things different ways. Me, if it didn't pertain to me or something I was dealing when I read it I would have just laughed and said what a dumb *** and went on about my business. But that's just me. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

What flexplate do you have? What torque converter? You sure it's a 2002 Yukon and not a 2000? Transmission has splines all the way to the end of the input shaft? Stock converter is a TMAX, TMBX code?
With a stock torque converter a '98 to 2002 LS1 f-body, or '99 and up truck flexplate that had a 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 and 4L60/65/70E should bolt right up. Like the one out of the 2002 Yukon, should bolt right up to everything.

Thanks for offering to help. Here's what I've found out since I posted this thread. The flex plate is on a 11" bolt pattern and the torque converter is on a 10.75 bolt pattern. The transmission case is a 2002 but it appears someone has put a earlier shaft and pump in it. I've been dealing with a guy named Jason at Novak Adapt in Utah, real knowledgeable guy and willing to help. He's getting together a parts list that I'll need to try and make this transmission and torque converter work. Any suggestions or recommendations you may have would be greatly appreciated. I've attached a photo of the case and the shaft once i pulled the torque converter off.

Isn't that a 298 mm input shaft.

You know I'm not sure what size it is. The guy I've been dealing with at Novak Adapters sent me a photo of what the shaft should look like if it was a 2002 model and a photo of the old style shaft and according to him this was the old style shaft in a 2002 case. I'm lost when it comes to transmission so I'm dependent on guys like you and him to guide me thru this! Any suggestions or recommendations you may have would be appreciated.

Thats a bastard of a transmission. This is an assumption, but the newly painted bellhousing with that input shaft looks like a van transmission with an LS type bellhousing, The fastest way to make that work on an LS1 would be to swap the original bell housing back onto it, get one if you don't have it. Use the torque converter for that transmission, use crank pilot adapter. Use a LS type flexplate and oval out the holes. That will get it connected.

BUT..... Do you know if this transmission works? Can you exchange it for one that will just bolt up to an LS engine?

The correct thing to do is get an LS type transmission. If you go swapping parts you're going to get into a full rebuild, which as seen on this site usually ends up with a non working transmission.
Yes it can work. IT'S NOT WORTH ADAPTING. Please get a transmission that already has the correct parts.

Did you but any chance get this from a supplier in florida? I've seen ads on c raigslist that show a picture of a transmission just like that, wrong bellhousing/input shaft combination.

No not out of FL, got it from a guy out past Loganville here outside of the Atlanta area. Figures I'd end up with something like this. There's no exchanging it I'm stuck with it just depends on whether I try to make this one work or cut my losses with this one and start looking for another one. Yeah one of the options Jason and I spoke about was oblonging the holes in the flex plate and try and use it just like it is. Evidently that's not a uncommon practice, I'll have to make a decision on this so I can get putting my car back together on track. I appreciate your help with this. I'll post what I find out this coming week. Thanks
