Default Towing options for my 4l60e

Hi All
Need to get a car home with a stuffed 3/4 clutch pack. Is it ok to tow the car with engine idling in neutral, or can I tow it up to speed in D to get past the 3/4 clutch slip until converter locks up, as most of the rest of the way will be at lock up speeds. 1st,2nd and rev all still working, Any help appreciated.

If 3/4's are gone it won't matter if you get it up to lockup speed...the clutches won't be holding.

Flat towing is always hard on things. Engine idling will help by providing some lube...but a 2 wheel uhaul trailer is pretty darn cheap and safer than a flat tow

How far are you towing the car? How soon do you need it done?
If you have a friend with AAA, if he calls AAA and is with you at your car when the tow truck driver arrives, the towing will be on his account. If he has AAA Plus/Premier the tow is free for the first 100 miles.
When MaroonMonster says "Flat towing" I assume he means towing with a tow strap. A flat-bed tow is certainly easy on the car and safe and generally what AAA tow trucks use.

BTW - "Lockup" refers to the torque converter, it does not lockup the transmission.
