Default Powerglide In 1996 Firebird With LS For Drag Racing

I'm working on building a bracket car out of a 1996 Firebird but it will have an LS engine. I saw on BMR's website that their LT1 Powerglide crossmember doesn't work with an LS1. Does anybody make a transmission crossmember for a powerglide that will work with an LS in a LT1-era car?

Stupid question... but why do you not just buy the BMR transmission cross-member for 1998-2002 F-Bodies (with LS1) for a Power-Glide?

-BMR part number: TCC002H = Hammer-Tone Black for Power-Glide and THM350 transmissions.
-BMR part number: TCC002R = Red for Power-Glide and THM350 transmissions.

Other companies also make these... but they are listed the same way as BMR does.
You shouldn't have a problem.

Not a stupid question at all. The way I interpreted the product descriptions is that these wouldn't fit. Now, I could be wrong, in fact I hope I'm wrong and it's as simple as getting the stuff from BMR.

If there's anything I've learned during builds is assumptions lead to you dropping f-bombs under a car when you realize stuff doesn't fit.

Sounds like a call into them is in order.

I have pretty much their entire catalog on my Mustang(I know, i hate money and love going slow) and they have always been available to answer my questions down to shock adjustments. Just give them a call, let them know what you're looking for and they will point you in the right direction.

Yep, that is my next step. An FTI transmission and torque converter will be going in the car...
