What year transmissions interchange 100%?
In terms of the lever (that is held on the manual selector shaft/ shift shaft with a nut) and the linkage/ cable bracket that bolts to the oil pan rail...
There are slightly different versions of these used on different platform/ body vehicles.
However, if your Lokar shifter/ gear selector fitted/ worked with the 4L65E that is currently in the vehicle...
You should not have a problem (if they are different) as you can install the old lever and bracket onto the transmission that you are obtaining.
They may not be different/ or may not be very different... but if they are, use the pieces from the last transmission.

@MaroonMonsterLS1 Is the 1993/1994 4L60e transmissions interchangeable with and vehicle in these years for a 1994 25th Anniversary T/A? It has the “transmission performance” button.

As well as physical/ Mechanical changes/ differences over the 1993 through 2013+ Production run.
The Breakdown is as follows:
4L60E productions runs for model year interchangeability are:
-1993 only
-1994 only
-1995 only
-1996 - 2000
-2001 - 2006
-2007 - 2008
-2009 - 2013/ 2014
Note: 4x4 4l60e units are not a direct swap with 2 wheel drive units...
Also different Engine Families use different:
-Bell-Housings.
-Flex-Plates.
-Flex-Plate to Crankshaft Flange Spacers.
-Torque-Converters.
-Pumps/ Stator Supports.
-Input-Shafts/ Turbine-Shafts.
Electronics differ...
The PCM, External Wiring, Internal Wiring (including Electrical Connectors) and Internal Components, all change/ differ.

Im trying to find a replacement trans for my 2009 silverado. The recipient vehicle is a 2009 silverado 1500lt has the 5.3 motor and a 4spd 4l60e transmission.
Donor option one is a 4sp 4l60e from a 2007 silverado but im not sure if they are interchangable.
Donor option two is a 4l60e from a 2009 chevy trailblazer no other info currently known They are both about the same price and have comparable miles. Im jus not sure which one will fit if either.
Does anyone have any insight on this?

ONLY a 2009 and later Model Year Transmission for a Gen-III/ IV SBC Engine (your 5.3L) will fit.

What engine is in both vehicles? Is the 98 unit an LS based one? They may be 2 different style units. Need more information to help you...
I can say that a unit from a Gen 2 vehicle will not directly interchange with a Gen 3 vehicle.

As Tranzman says, we need more information to be sure.
However your 2003 will need a 300mm version of the 4L60E which only came with LS engines. As far as I can tell, trucks didn't get LS engines until 1999. Therefore the 1998 4L60E from a 4x4 wil likely be a 298mm version and therefore mechanically incompatible. Sure, it could be rebuilt as a 300mm, but by then it would be better to rebuild your 2003.

Bottom line is you can swap them but if your 2007 vehicle is an ISS vehicle you will need to tune out the ISS code because the 2005 unit will not have ISS
I just went through a trans swap and FWIW, for a Holley managed system, its about pin count.
They added 2 pins to the connector to support the input speed sensor(15 pin) , with a Terminator you can ignore it, or just use it for a data point.
The bigger issue is the trans with 15 pins has several hardpart differences that if your tearing in to it you need to take notice of.
I could run a 15 pin or 13 I went thirteen to keep it simple.

Okay thank you for the information yet the transmission that was originally in the vehicle is a 15-pin and the one that I put into the vehicle is only a 13 pin. So I would have to do it tune to have the computer ignored the ISS? Thank you man this has been a huge headache
If your running a original ECU, I believe you have to have the 15 pin setup. The programming uses it for torque management, shifting control etc.
My local trans builder was shocked my Holley could run either one and didnt care.. "Makes way too much sense" LOL

ok so I'm running stock ECU in truck but I would like to know what I need to install to allow the 13 pin transmission to be able to work in my 2007 Chevy suburban with out having the vehicle trigger the p0717 code. Man whoever can help me accomplish this I'll venmo/cash app whoever 100 for gas or whatever. . Everyone that is trying to help me in my area literally think they know everything and it's so frustrating so I'm willing to help someone that will really help me . Out of respect. Just to let y'all know I'm mechanically inclined but I have never encountered a procedure along these line. So please and thank you if you can inform me the steps from A-Z . Breaking it down will really help me out and allow my family to have a vehicle. If anything I'll take this rebuilt transmission out and see if someone will trade this 13 pin 4l60-e rebuilt transmission for a rebuilt 15 pin 4l65-e which is the original transmission that was in vehicle. Please and thank you
Some people say that the code can be tuned out with HP Tuners or some other like tunning software and some say that the code can't be tuned out. I would call some tuners in your area and ask if this is something that they can do and if they are willing to guarantee that they can.
