Hi to all!

'99 Camaro with 25.000 miles and 4L60e Automatic Transmission.

I hear a mild whistling when stay in R.
I don't remember if it has always done it, but it has been doing it since a long time.


The transmission oil Level and colour is ok and it is Dex VI.
Everything works great only this mild noise in R.
Like a "FIUUUUUUUUUU" costant.

It can be normal?

Someone have the same?

can you try a different spelling of the noise? Might help us recognize it

 

A low whistle. An Hiss.
It is costant and low level sound ONLY in R.

I will try to recognize it!

Need attention to hear it because is not simple.

 

The transmission fluid level is a little bit over max.
The color and smell is perfect.

The whistle noise appear only when i change the gear and only when the car is hot after some miles.

My mechanic said that is the transmission oil pump that do this whistle and it can be in the normal range of noise.

The car goes perfect in every situation.

Hallo to all! I've put the Transmission Fluid in the correct level (MAX level on hot of dipstick).
I pump out half quart of oil in overfill, but now is perfect.
The colour is clear red and the smell is okay.

The mild whisle is still here and the transmission shift perfect, kick down perfect and works perfect.

Do you think the DELCO Dexron VI is correct for 4L60e transmission? only a doubt.
