You could do that with 0 electronics and have every gear be fwd via locking the shift valves and doing a couple other things to the vb
Bases on the fact that this is a derby car with a 60e I'm going to assume you're just looking for the lease amount of work possible. In which case...it will work just fine to run it fixed line pressure.
You don't need a standalone controller either. You can just wire up the pressure switch manifold to provide the ground path you need to control the solenoids
