Default 4l60e No/lost 1st gear

Lost 1st gear today. 2nd 3rd and 4th work.
1st gear does not work when manually selected nor with the gear selector in any other range.

Question is...... Is a broken spring in the 1-2 shift valve even remotely common?

Also, I run the sonnax performance pack and have the aluminum pinless accumulator pistons, I don't see these really cracking or breaking but is it a possibility that I actually broke the 2nd accumulator piston?

Thanks much in advance

Make sure that 1st is being commanded.

Otherwise, you should have a 1-2 valve-train issue (spring most likely).

1-2 spring is always forcing the valve outboard.
The solenoid, when active, tries to send the valve inboard.

So, unless the spring is broken and not letting the valve stroke, I wouldn't suspect the spring.
I suppose it could have the valve hung up or something silly.

Do you have the transgo 1-2 shift valve? That will let you get manual 1st regardless of the solenoid action

Since this issue, with gear selector in 2nd, it starts in 2nd.
Gear selected in manual 3rd, it starts in 3rd.

My apologies for it would have showed the issue. (Ended up being in limp mode)

Sorry guys for wasting your time. Pulled the pan and checked the 1-2 shift valve spring and 2nd accumulator. All good. Ended up being in limp mode which has never happened to me and could have been easy if I scanned it right off the bat like said above.

Just overreacted a bit, 3rd gear start with a 4400 stall out of the blue jumped my brain to serious problem.

Thanks and sorry

Good deal! I can't seem to wrap my head around why so many people do not scan the car before doing anything.
