Hey guys, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 4L60E with a kit I got from a transmission performance shop, but ive got a couple of questions. The fluid in the pan came out looking like mud, but after tearing this thing apart, nothing really looks that bad. The clutches are still in pretty mint condition, and I haven't found anything really broken. The sun shell was still in great shape, the worst i could find was a bit of scoring on the drum and a bit on the case. So my question is, what would cause no 2nd gear? Shifting into it manually gave me neutral, and after a while the transmission stopped trying to command it at all, just going straight from 1st to 3rd. Is it a servo/solenoid issue? I just want to make sure this problem is going to be resolved when I have the thing back together for putting back in the car. Thanks for any help

 

I'd also like to add that this was a gradual issue, it starting with a late shift into 2nd that gradually got worse, until it wouldn't shift into 2 at all. The trans also will not shift into 4 at WOT. and if I try to hold it at WOT to test the 3-4 shift I get an SES light for a few seconds

 

Be sure to set your servo pin travel to .075"-.125". See attachment for instructions.
