Default Racing with a 4L60E

2000 Camaro SS, LS1, GM Hot cam, Stock ECU with HP Tuners, BBK Headers & TB, 9" with 5.38 gears and a spool, MT 31.5" DR, Full manual shift 4L60E – rebuilt suppose to be capable of 500 HP, Rossler "Little Black Box", FTI 3600 single disk converter. Hey, bought it like this.....

Can I lock the converter at about the 1000 foot mark? We hope to be running in True Street in Bradenton in March.....

Don't underestimate the 4l60e. Everyone thinks they are weak. Well they are in stock form, just like every other stock trans. Guys worship the 4l80, its weak as well. But I have seen many 60e's hold really big power when built right. Contact Ryan or Frank at Performabuilt, who sponsor this page. Even the late, great Frank Cahill would laugh at all those doubting the 60e.

As for your question...not sure. I know when its locked on a dyno it has a tendency to break the converter.

@FTI Converters
Dalton is probably going to recommend against locking a single disc at WOT in the 1/4
A triple disc is a safer bet

Is it physically possible to lock a single...sure. Just be prepared to wear it out pretty quickly
