Saw your answer on a
response in passing through about 4l60e trans interchange. Have an 08 Tahoe 4.8 2wd and need to know what years I can interchange with.

 

For the 4L60E Transmission Family (4L60E/ 65E/ 70E) there are multiple Interchangeability-Groups:

-The 2007 and 2008 Model-Years are ONLY interchangeable with each other.
-The 2009 Model-Year through the 2013 Model-Year are interchangeable with one another.
-The 2001 Model-Year through the 2006 Model-Year are interchangeable with one another...
(There are also ISS Units that were produced towards the end of the Model-Years in this group, and are an interchangeability Sub-Group.)

Interchangeability becomes much more complex for Units produced between 2000 and 1993.
I am not going to cover this, as you are dealing with a 2008 Model-Year Unit.
