Default 2018 Camaro auto trans

So as I get older our 6 speed Camaro is a bit tiring. Many LS3 Camaro's out there with the 8L60E's. What do I need to look for into regards to the trans? Run don't walk?

Are you asking about the GMPT 8L90 Transmission?

... or the GMPT 6L80E/ 6L90E Transmission Family?

The GMPT 8L90 Transmission; you will want to run away from as fast as possible!
GM has abandoned this Model Transmission... due to the massive issues with the design changes, that GM made from ZF.

The GMPT 6L80E/ 6L90E Transmission Family can be made to work.
Mainly the Pump and Bell-Housing Assembly, and the Valve-Body/ TCM (TEHCM) are the BIG Expenses...
But with some hard-parts upgrades, an Aftermarket Billet-Half Torque-Converter, and MOST IMPORTANTLY a Tune!
... These Transmissions can work well enough.

It will never shift like a GMPT 4L80E, but it will do well for a Synchronous-Shifting Automatic-Transmission.
