Is this normal for input shaft? Got my 4l80e back together had a front stator bushing that kept fighting me (sonnex wide bushing after honing it). Went to check front end play and I'm getting this...

Is this normal? The build has borg warner high friction clutches and raybesto steals, ck performance master shift recalibration upgrade kit, rollerized output, billet/rollerized forward hub, summit 300m input shaft, and HD th400 intermediate snap ring. Once it does that (feels like free play) I can zero the mic and pull another .015 out of it.

it appears that you are measuring both front end play and the play from the overdrive carrier to the snapring on the splines. measure only snapring endplay with just the OC planet carrier on input shaft in a vise and subtract that from total endplay.

Thanks I didn't know if the input shaft staying raised up after I pulled it was a concern. The front stator bushing was has been a pain in the butt.
